December 29, 2020 Give time to yourself to think about the things you are achieving in your day to day busy life. With the same motive, on December 29 we had a session to discuss about the development and changes we noticed in us during the phase of lockdown. At around 5:15 pm we gathered via zoom.We all were really excited to go to the past and talk about our wonderful experience during that time. It was exciting as well as something to be remembered as it was the first session of Strength TogetHER where we had a session without any moderator. As the sessions were drawing to end, we decided to make it a learning session with each other. Facilitated by ‘Lokopakar’ youth organization which focuses on the development of youth personally or professionally in Nepal, 'Strength togetHER' virtual program is created especially for girls and young women of different mindsets and backgrounds. During the sessions, they all come together to share various views, ideas, perspectives, experie

28th November, 2020 YOU CAN BE A GOOD PERSON WITH A KIND HEART AND STILL SAY NO !  Attending the previous sessions of  Strength TogetHER cohort 5 ,we slowly realized that most of us had this confusion between saying the words "YES" and "NO" .This gave us a brilliant idea for our next session's topic i.e " THE ART OF SAYING NO " which was conducted  on 28th November, 2020  under the guidance of our cheerful Mrs. Aayusha Gupta, who is a CA and has recently started her own practice firm. She is also the secretary of Dharan Toastmasters Club and an amazing public speaker. Due to our busy schedule,we heard the stories of only three of our participants .But those three stories were enough for the rest of us to relate to : • Our first speaker shared her childhood's story when her friend used to ask her to underline every line in her textbook that the teacher taught . She didn't want to make her book dirty nor she wanted to say NO to her friend

7th November 2020 In the typical Nepali society, menstruation is still a taboo more than a monthly process. Many girls still get scared when they get their first period thinking as if it's a sin. And when she gets it for the first time, she is actually treated like it's a sin she has committed. She is forbidden and set under certain boundaries. She has to go through many cultures that makes no sense if we think for a while. Thus, we thought talking about this particular issue would be a really be fruitful. Strength TogetHER cohort 5 conducted its sixth session on 7th November,2020. Our moderator for the session was Ms. Simran Khatri, who has currently finished her bachelors in development studies. She is also the member of Global Peace women and Hatti Hatti.   1st November, 2020. You never change your life until you step out of your comfort zone. Change begins at the end of your comfort zone. You have to be honest about what you want to do and take risks rather than surround yourself around the bubble or be in your own state of mind. We should not remain in our comfort zone, if we want to make it big, we must challenge ourselves and succeed in doing well outside of our comfort zone.To challenge ourselves and to grow a little more, we had our fifth session on the topic, ' Stepping out of my comfort zone' .We were guided by a very enthusiastic and energetic person, Mrs. Aayusha Gupta who has currently ventured out on her own practice firm. She is a young chartered accountant and also loves talking to people of different background. To start with, we had few speakers who shared their inspiring stories which really had an impact on each one of us present there and motivated us to step out of our bubble.  ''I had a keen interest

17th October,2020 Audre Lorde once said and I truly quote, "It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept and celebrate those differences." If we really give this quote a deep think, we will realize the heavy truth prevailing in this simple thread of words. We often tag certain things as "unordinary" just because our version of the "ordinary" was different. To put up in simpler words, most of the times, we are unsatisfied with the reality because we had a different expectation put up in our head. But, it's not wrong when we hesitate to accept the unordinary because it's a "human thing" to do. To accept the unordinaries, whether it's a place or an event or our friends or even our own selves, the topic for this time was "Accepting the unordinary." We had our session on 17th October, 2020 and to help us see the beauty of our flaws and celebrate it, our moderators was our joyful and energ

October 3, 2020 "Positivity is not the only emotion we know. Human beings are known to have a wide variety of emotions. And, experiencing them all is totally okay." People always share about how to be positive. If we scroll our social media for 5 minutes, we will land upon at least two quotes about positivity and happiness. But the way I figure it out, positivity and happiness is just an add up. To not feel any happiness is what I call normal. If I had to rate the emotions out of 10, I would rate  negative emotions   below 5,  no emotions  a fair 5  and   positive emotions   above 5 . And trust me, below 5 is what an average human normally experiences and it's totally okay. To normalize all these emotions and to talk about how feeling low is sometimes okay  Strength togetHER cohort 5  had its 3rd session on 3rd October, 2020 with the topic " It's okay to be not okay ". To help us and guide us with the same topic, our moderator for the session was  Ms. Aayush
