Strength TogetHER 5- Session 5

1st November, 2020.

You never change your life until you step out of your comfort zone. Change begins at the end of your comfort zone. You have to be honest about what you want to do and take risks rather than surround yourself around the bubble or be in your own state of mind.

We should not remain in our comfort zone, if we want to make it big, we must challenge ourselves and succeed in doing well outside of our comfort zone.To challenge ourselves and to grow a little more, we had our fifth session on the topic, 'Stepping out of my comfort zone'.We were guided by a very enthusiastic and energetic person, Mrs. Aayusha Gupta who has currently ventured out on her own practice firm. She is a young chartered accountant and also loves talking to people of different background.

To start with, we had few speakers who shared their inspiring stories which really had an impact on each one of us present there and motivated us to step out of our bubble.

  •  ''I had a keen interest in editing pictures and videos'' said our first speaker.Having failed once or twice, she was said that she couldn't do it any longer. That 'NO' gave her the courage and determination to finally prove herself. She stayed optimistic and could do everything that she wanted, which eventually helped her grow.

  • Our second speaker always had a fear of being judged. She had wrapped herself into a comfortable boundary of not speaking in public. Parallelly, she wanted to a better version of herself. She took up to motivational speaker, in due course of time it has been her biggest inspiration. Gradually, she was able to step out from her ,"NO SPEAKING ZONE".

  •  From being a shy girl who feared to speak in public to an aspiring television presenter, our forth speaker has been able to come out of put comfort zone. She quotes her definition of comfort zone as "an area where you feel safe and happy but don't dare to take risk."

  • Our forth speaker has really been an self accumulated person. Being straight forward was not her kind of thing which really became toxic later on. She has eventually stepped towards being bold and uncomplicated.

  • Our final speaker who portrays herself as a cheerful and positive person person tries to step out of her zone by trying something new.Things related to digital world was not her cup of tea. Unusually, she decided to learn. The end result of her bold and challenging move made her even more proud of herself.

After hearing and commenting on all of our stories and opinions on how we were able to take a step forward to try things that scares us, which eventually brings a positive result on our growth, our moderator asked each one of us to share the incident where we did something new and unusual and gave us some time to really ponder on our growth and realize if we do something for our development.

Here are some of the few encouraging words that our moderator summed up and came to the conclusion:

• Try to do things that scares you.

• To be comfortable, try doing things being uncomfortable

• Take every "NO" as an opportunity to convert it into yes

• Live for yourself

Additionally, she framed some of the useful areas where we must focus on and try to improve which would reflect on our growth. Some of them includes- Public speaking, Waking up early, Fighting through conflicts, Admitting a mistake, Unplugging from social media and many more. It requires huge amount of practice and efforts for man to be successful or we can quote as "Being Perfect".

As a whole, it was such a fruitful and interactive session in the world full of chaos and conflicts. The session was lived for 90 minutes via zoom app with almost 25 participants. Not just these few people, but we all can take out some time and really think and try to evaluate the areas where we need to develop. We can all explore new traits of ourselves and remember always try to do things that seems scary, which is a bit risky and obviously the one which leads to our growth. Let's not lie to ourselves and be honest about what we want to do.

This was all about "Stepping out of my comfort zone". It was a huge success. Looking forward to many more session
